Cassandra has spent the last eight years within cannabis banking. Her career began at Colorado Bank & Trust which was the first bank in Colorado to develop a cannabis banking program. Ultimately, she wanted to serve the cannabis industry on a larger scale and joined the team at Herring Bank in 2021 and is currently the MRB Operations manager.

Cassandra’s main job responsibilities include managing the onboarding team, reviewing onboarding documentation for all new banking relationships to ensure they are compliant, and researching new states regulations once they become legalized. By working with a national cannabis program, she has expanded her knowledge within the various states in which cannabis is legalized and their licensing regulations. Herring Bank currently banks cannabis business in 20 different states. Her broad knowledge of banking encompasses areas of compliance, operations, product development, fraud, and risk assessment.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and is a proud mother. She is also actively involved in crop production, harvest, and processing during certain times of the year. She’s passionate about giving back to the community, participating in educational services, and learning new skills goes without saying.
