Erik Gundersen is the Founder and Principal of ERG Strategies, a consulting firm whose clients include government agencies and private businesses. Erik founded ERG Strategies to share his years of experience building state cannabis programs and establishing government agencies on a national level.

Prior to founding ERG Strategies, Erik served as Executive Director of Maine’s Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP). Erik established and led the state agency responsible for oversight of Maine’s medical and adult use cannabis programs. Under Gundersen’s leadership, Maine’s adult use cannabis program launched in the fall of 2020.

Before being tapped to lead Maine’s OCP, Gundersen served as Senior Policy Advisor to two Speakers of the Maine House, including time as chief liaison to the Legislature’s Cannabis Legalization Implementation Committee, the committee which wrote the law for Maine’s adult use cannabis industry.
